My theory is - there are no buyers, therefore the volume tends to be low. If I had money in my pocket that I could use to buy stocks, I wouldn't venture out in the market today. I would wait to see if I could get even better bargains.

I was watching the local news tonight which of course is making a big deal of the market drop. The national news syndicate had an interview with the head of CNBC (sp?) as part of the review. This guy closed by saying he thought the market closing at 7500+ today would lose another 5 to 6 percent before it would stabilize. They also reported that first inputs from tomorrow's Asian market indexes were already down 2 to 3 percent shortly after opening.
