Based off the article, the current size of the internet market... Way back then, there were only 3,000 Web sites in the world, 3.2 million host computers and 30 million Internet users. Now, there are 2.5 million sites, 36.7 million hosts and 134 million users. These 134 million users access the internet through a pc to get, say, their email. Now, would a user of Voice IP Telephony need a pc? No...they only need a phone! How many phones are there? Well over a billion. The point is, the potential customer base for Voice IP is TEN times greater than the pc based internet market as we know it. IMHO the stakes are high and many players will want in. Do a search on "IP Telephony" and see for yourself.
