The REAL statistics (not out of your imagination) are:
in 1929, top 5% of households received 30% of income;
in 1950's, top 5% of households received 20% of income (lowest share in US)
presently, top 5% of households receive about 27% of income

note "household", most rich people do not make their wives and children starve.

It is also worth comprehending that one Bill Gates routinely sells 11,000,000 MSFT shares in one day - a sucker engineer works and saves for a year or two to buy just 100 of the shares Gates sold. Takes a million engineers, working hard and saving all they can, to buy the stock just one Gates sells. Add Allen, et al.
