Mason,

Many thanks for the post.

<<I promise to beat my chest if it goes well and to beg forgiveness if it turns out badly.>>

Beat away, I will dance a jig to the drum beat and toast your success.<G> And no forgiveness required for carving your own path IMO. Win or lose.

I hope you are right because I fear the alternative. I think the deeper it goes the harder it will be for many people. Not a pleasant thought.

Mason, you said >This doesn't account for prices in the semi-equipment sector, who hardly had a bubble to burst.<

My pet peeve! I wish I could clobber the next analyst who talks
about the "great gains" everyone has had. We value investors
have only seen our stocks become even better values.

So, what is being bought today? I notice LU and KO are up
again, but mercifully the internet stocks continue sinking.

Mason, You use to like Electro Scientific (ESIO). Like many, they are now at what seem to be incredible lows. I just got the annual report and looking at the figures, it seems pretty sound. They are well diversified in areas that they seem to have techinical advantage as well as leading market share. I think they'll turn around and come back strongly. Last quarter, they still had earnings over 50 cents and they sell for $18.

Are you buying or looking for further drops?

Regards,

Mark
