God bless you faithful folks who have been able to keep following Ampex diligently. (Hal, Hugh,Jubimer I do not know how you do it!) I Have been lurking here but I just can't keep on top of things like I used to last year. The less I think about my AXC investment on a daily basis the better I sleep. I just can't imagine what I would have said 18 months ago if someone told me we'd see AXC trading at just over a buck! Why oh why didn't I sell short at 9!!!!!

After meeting with Karen in January I thought that things looked good, seemed like a plan was in place. Now I wonder, are they just moving too damn slow? What good is AXC's technology if they can't successfully bring it to market?

Sorry to crab. Just need to vent a little. My wife and I were playfully arguing last night and she said "...well at least I didn't invest XXXX in a stock that's worth $ 1.00!" Boy, talk about having zilch for a comeback to that!!

My only consolation right about now is knowing how much AXC cousin Eddie owns. OUCH!

Keepering the faith, (ha ha ha remember that?!)

Regards,
Sean

<< Out of the gate too late? >>

Different now than before is the talent stew.

I suspect that with the internal R&D surrounding the KM there was insufficient feasibility study and test marketing of the whole idea.

Now there is a COO with a strong track record and a "merger" with the MicroNet organization which is reported to have good product and marketing talent.

Also, there is the yet to be made announcement(s) of still other
situations and innovator / managers who would come along with the
combination.

Finally, I am getting the impression that Ed Bramson would prefer to evolve into the CEO role and tackle the strategic issues while leaving the operational and product issues to the newly evolving management group.

In sum, Ampex is more like a "start up" at an advanced level. Again, this will make for a hard to value public company. Probably, more and more emphasis will be placed on reported financial results. Here, is where the present ultra-conservative bent will be to shareholder's advantage.

When the dust settles on the acquisition / merger trail and there is a good business plan announced, I wouldn't be surprised to see an IPO to restructure debt and capital.

All this is long term stuff and in the process we should experience the exit of currently attached momentum or short term players (if any are even left).

Just my sense of things,
Ed Perry
