the yen has been gaining strength quickly against the dollar the last few days. it is trading around 136 to the dollar up from 146 recently. not sure what is driving this right now. any opinions???

I have lost track of currencies in the last few days, but one should not. The dollar is sharply down against the DM as well DESPITE RUSSIA! This is a double negative. I think that it must mean that foreign money is fleeing the U.S., leaving the U.S. stock market. Considering that this year's rally would not have occurred without the foreign inflows, this is another red-alert signal!

Regards,

Phil
