If you read Hyundai between the lines:

LSI has to build fewer designs and more chips not fewer chips and more designs as they have been doing

I would interprete that to mean they are converting their .35um 16M DRAM fabs to do 'logic' chips by buying a few machines for tungsten plugs for x layer metals. They do not have the money, upwards of $300M/fab, to convert the fabs to do sub 0.25um deep litho UV DRAMs.

The guys who have that dough will do well the next time around. I wonder the USC steppers are deep UV capable?
