Art (& everyone):
Nice move in progress.
Suspect upgrade of PGEX having some effect.
This news looks promising...

PARIS (Dow Jones)--France Telecom said Wednesday its investment in the $1.5 billion TAT-14 transatlantic fiber-optic cable would total $118 million and said it would chair the committee overseeing the cable for the first year.

In a statement, France Telecom said the TAT-14 fiber-optic cable project was expected to be completed and in service by October 2000. It added that Japan's KDD-SCS was to be the main supplier for the project.

As reported, Deutsche Telekom will invest $120 million in the project. All told, some 50 telecommunications companies are involved in the project.
