"I feel very strong now that while it is certainly possible, we have a good chance of never closing below a 20% loss, and an excellent chance that after the market gives a few opportunities for people to exit we may finish with a very strong turn around Tuesday and no bear bear will ever be seen"

I'm keeping my fingers crossed. The trip will certainly be volatile.

Come on, Marc, just say you are calling the f'ing bottom <G>. On the other hand, do you do radio <G>?

Nice backing and filling today as the market digests yesterday's action which was clearly institutions and internationals bailing at any cost for whatever reason. Need a nice close.

marc,

Of all the definitions of a bear market I have seen most if not all don't look at intraday lows but look at the close. I feel very strong now that while it is certainly possible, we have a good chance of never closing below a 20% loss, and an excellent chance that after the market gives a few opportunities for people to exit we may finish with a very strong turn around Tuesday and no bear bear will ever be seen

I hope so. Either way I just cant see how we are entering a bear market at this point.

market comment:As I've been saying no bear market and for those who thought Bob missed a bear, close but no cigar(no Clinton jokes please)
Just a typical turn-around Tuesday as I expected though I must say when I turned my set on a while ago I was thinking what if the market plunged 1000 while I was out? Yeah we may have some testing and probing and all that garbage down the road but we are in a bull market. We will know we are headed into a true bear market when the great almighty Bob Brinker says we are
