Scott, I don't think a 400 mhz laptop is unrealistic in the very near future.

Your 'consultant' is not correct. Intel will be releasing a 300mhz laptop chip shortly. 400mhz is some time off (next year), and from what I have read may run in a 'dual mode', slower when on battery power in order to give you a decent amount of time, and full speed when on AC power. The only other projected upgrade I am aware of for this year is to 333mhz for laptop chips...
