Economic History Lesson - guys, give it a rest.

You obviously disagree; you're not going to convince each other; and you can probably both find volumes of academic support for your position, such is the nature of both history and economics.

I, personally, tend to see very few parrallels. But who cares? I think the points you've been trying to make have been made already.
