Tim, I sincerely hope you are right, but this back and forth motion IMO doesn't accomplish very much. One thing it does do though, which is what I think you are focused on is it takes some good stocks down with the rest. When this is over, the stronger ones that got lumped up will climb to newer highs very fast as investors leave behind those that don't deserve their previous valuations.

This is a good learning experience for me, and I'm eagerly reading much about the whole history of the Dow, and it's contemporaries.
