Burt - Re: 'Intel's prospects appear to be looking up. "

I am in complete agreement with all your thoughts.

About Russia - why are they suddenly important today when we essentially did without them for 70+ years?

I know a bunch of banks and "international investors" (Soros in particular) are taking a bath there - I hardly think that is anything to cry over.

As for Intel - they have the products as you noted - and Intel indicates sales are on track for the second half.

Another bright spot - In 1999 (early to middle), Intel's 0.18 micron process and devices will start to kick in - giving a performance boost, power reduction and cost reduction kicker to the Intel equation. I hope the Year 2000 problems find their solution in new Intel hardware !
