ROTFLMAO!!! Btw, is this a promise? If so, I may have to wrongfully accuse you of just that. Ok, before everyone take my jest too seriously, it is an inside joke. I live sloppily [am i trying to be a mendicant <vbg>?] and my friends always joke that "lighting a match" is the best way to clean my house <VBG>.

Seriously, maybe that's why Singapore is fairing better.

A more relevant distinction, IMO, would be between countries that were not colonized and countries that were. The latter group can be further divided by the identity of the colonial powers. Those legacies, both in economies and attitudes, are still very much present, though they lie just below the surface.
