John: This message was posted by Greywolf tonight on the British Hemmington Scott Information Exchange:

After a meeting tonight in Gothenburg, Sweden which was held by Magnus Nordin the head of Lundin Oil it is clear that SHELL have extended their use of the Borgny Dolphin platform.

This information was available on this site at the end of last week and it was posted with the utmost care that it was true.

SODRA will only know a few day's ahead of time when it can start using the platform. As to where they are going to drill this is dependent on the results that come out of SHELL. Information sharing is part of the platfrom agreement, if this information becomes available to the general public is another matter.

The alternatives are that they drill at the same structure depth as AMERADA HESS a level at which they found traces of hydrocarbons yet not more than traces. Or they will drill at the same structure depth that SHELL now have been drilling.

RE: Your question "Wouldn't Shell have to pay a penalty to Sodra if they held on to the rig?"

No, The Falkland drillers have an agreement (FOSA), each company uses the rig as long as they need to complete their well (and pay for the number of days they use it).
