BWAC,

You are right. I heard the exact same explanation from Jim Caldwell
who heads Cabletron's Investor Relations Department. Since
Boeing isn't going to be doing too many acquisitions in the near
future, buying back stock might be the best thing for it to
do. Conversely, Cabletron will be acquiring more companies so
it has to be careful.
