Buy LU anywhere up until the next split and you'll be richly rewarded in a couple years. Don't forget: Lucent Technologies is still a baby.

LU leads widely held stocks in both point and percent gain today. I like it. It's a player.

Tim,

I think that one should buy stock at a price range that he feels comfortable. I still believe that LU, DELL, MSFT, and CSCO are four issues that every serious investor needs to consider to earn, especially if they are put on sale. I would also add YHOO! and AOL on the list. Actually picked up both when they dipped early this morning. Internet is probably one of the biggest tech revolution we have witnessed in the 20th century and these two issues will show explosive growth in the next 5-10 years.

I began to accumulate LU in the mid-80s (sold them at 103+ due to technical reason) when the baby corrected for about 20%+ from its all time high. I will seriously consider heavily accumuate those super four whenever they have a 20%+ correction due to reasons other than fundamental changes.

back to LU, I see very strong support at 70. Most of the tech issues retreated during the early morning retreat, yet Lu held up above 70 very well. Technically I don't expect Lu to go down below 70 and am looking forward to add 10-20 point value from current level as investors are anticipating a strong quarterly report.

But if you are a long term holder, you have nothing to worry about. Look for LU to trade 60-80% above current level within the next 12-18 months.

Also I believe that technically, everytime the market tanks 500+ point, it's time to do some serious bargain hunting both for short term trade and long term hold. We have been richly rewarded by this strategy lots of times before.

good luck,
larry!
