here is a list of the security technologies that i think should be discussed together... so that everyone can understand how they overlap... and where things are headed.... and which companies are leading the way....

Digital Content protection.
Software Protection.
Software Metering and Licensing.
Encryption Software (algorithm development)
Encryption Hardware.
Firewalls, software (and trusted OS).
Firewalls, hardware, security, traffic shaping... etc.
Key management (Tokens/private key infratstucture vs public key.)
Smartcards
PKI infrastructure,
SSL, SET, and IPSec.
VPN's.

Hi Enam - I think that it's a great idea to have a security/encryption thread. I'm self-taught myself but I only have a very basic knowledge of what's happening in the industry. If you want to start that thread, I'll do what I can to support you.

BTW, Calypso, I did e-mail your post to Jaws. My belief is that they haven't submitted their algorithm to the IPsec list nor have they been approached by Cisco etc.
