Paul,
I will see what I can find out today from HEC.
There is much talk of civil war breaking out in Russia. I would like to hear some speculation in regard to what the possible scenario is for their oil fields. It seems to me, that being the largest producing nation, there would be significant volumes of oil that would be displaced, thus causing repercussions in the oil markets.
This isn't just a small rumor floating around. NBC was making mention of it this morning, and the communists press ran headlines of the possibility of war breaking out, due to the political problems between Yeltsin and Parliament. Russia is really at "critical mass". I would assume that whoever has the military will govern in the short term. However, there is much discord in the military since they aren't getting paid, so who knows. Maybe there is someone out there with some knowledge about this situation. It would interesting to hear some ideas about what might happen.
