Investing
Recomendations...

Here are new comments from Individual Investor: 9/1/98

"Treasury Secretary Robert Rubin tried to calm investors yesterday
saying, "The economy is sound. Prospects for growth, low unemployment, and low
inflation continue to be strong." He's right.

Remember investors, you buy companies not markets and you've
created tremendous value. The small cap market, which has been in a bear market, helps provide a floor to equities.

So what should you do? Be patient and take a longer term view.

Here's what I see in the months ahead:

I expect selling to continue for the short term, but see U.S. corporations as fundamentally sound. Look for opportunities in the financial service sector (specific stocks to watch include Merrill, Schwab, Citicorp) and in large tech stocks (Dell, Lucent, Yahoo, and IBM are approaching attractive valuations). Domestic retailers like Walmart and Home Depot will provide solid returns over 12 months.

Take a deep breath. Remember, don't panic."

Mohan,
Hi!! <<You know what, have you heard of this old day who died couple of years ago in NY, I think, who had sizeable amount (20 million or so) in her portfolio when she died??????>>

Yes, remember that...believe Kodak and MRK were two of her picks...but, whatever...I think you have the figure correctly...she gave it to the church or something..planned the entire will so the IRS couldn't touch it.....of real significance here..."SHE NEVER SOLD"

Best, kemble

re it wasnt exciting
Oh Mohan you know by now how much I love excitement: Maybe I can combine somehow just putting money into the market every month with some shenanigans too.
Of course the shenanigans dont have to be market based I guess!
