I will always remember the day when a former Chair of the Statistics Dept at UC Berkeley, who is widely respected for his research work, appeared as a witness for the defense during OJ's trial to debunk the DNA probabilities mentioned by the prosecution. It was extremely sad to see a fine scholar compromise his reputation for such an unworthy cause.
