I agree that we may see some more see-sawing. What we are seeing here folks is a version of the bullwhip effect. Or if you prefer, market gyrations seeking equilibrium. The perturbations will continue but the swings will become smaller and smaller until we reach an equilibrium. Then we will probably see a period of sideways trading until people figure out that our economy isn't going down the tubes. Then we should see a resumption of a more rational upward trend.

However, the big problem is that people have lost nerve. A lot of people myself included that supplement their income with withdrawals from mutual funds have decided that belts need to be tightened, to wait out the market chaos, until we see a sustained rebound. Problem with that is if enough people do it, spending decreases and recession follows. Let's hope this doesn't happen.
