Viridian Capital, LLC has been awarded the opportunity to assist Web Street Financial Group, Inc. in raising up to $8,000,000 in private equity capital within the next thirty days. The proceeds of the offering will be used to fund general operating expenses, specifically marketing expenses, for Web Street Securities, Inc., an on-line brokerage firm based in Northbrook, Illinois. Barron's gave Web Street Securities its highest rating possible in a March 1998 survey of on-line brokerage firms. Web Street Financial Group, Inc. anticipates an initial public offering in December of this year.

Viridian Capital is a Charlotte based venture capital firm that makes equity investments in emerging growth companies, particularly in the fields of technology, life sciences and telecommunications. Viridian is in the process of raising a $20,000,000 fund to support future investment opportunities.
