Pat: The tech stocks ,because of their earnings instability, are volatile. This causes the majority to have very short cycles. (Peak to peak duration) The Market leaders in general have much larger cycles. Most Investors including myself often make their cycle predictions based on those of the Leaders. In practice for each Leader cycle, the secondaries have 3 or more. This leads to a yo-yo ride. We have been thru 2 recently. Once you accept that some stocks have a higher frequency, your expectations and stop loss must be adjusted to suit.
