Instead of shorting it made sense to buy puts far out of money (80 or 85 dollars strike when AMZN was around 130). I believe they January 1999 80 puts were less than $0.5. I guess they are in the money now?
I do not have approval for option trading (only for covered call writing), so I did not have a chance to buy puts on CPQ to protect my shares (tiny 300 shares at $32.6).

Hope everybody here will recover and make some money sooooon.
