Amazon purchased a company that writes these products, presumably so they could pre-program it to exclude certain competitors and other unsavory things>>>

dude....it's a marketing war.....it's a war of first in the mind....it's a war of first in the market.....it's not a war of who is better....

Internet Schminternet. The problem with the market right now is that the momos are running it. A good company is a good company and a loser is a loser. AMZN is a loser. Its backers are losers. Momos have taken GOOD COMPANIES and given them LOSER VALUATIONS.

There are GREAT BUYING OPORTUNITIES TODAY in ALL SECTORS. Find them, and RETIRE RICH.

But, I digress. Back to the subject at hand...

The head honcho sayeth,

In some senses what I'm saying is that in business, the rich generally tend to get richer, the poor poorer.

Zaxboowow personally finds an investing philosphy based upon beliefs like this lacking in basic morality.

Now that it looks like the FoolPort is going downhill, Zax notices that today TMF suddenly seems to be pushing the C-K port, the ultimate momo Wall Street "darling" portfolio, perhaps as the cure-all for all the evils inflicted on AMZN longs the past few days.

I wish TMF good luck in matching the DOW.

Zaxbowow believes that the creme rises to the top.

What can it possibly mean, when without weak earnings, or a U.S. currency devaluation, the market suddenly tanks? The lump sums of cash, equities and corporate debts has not in fact actually changed.

It means that the money, which was last week in the FoolPort, is this week in the DogPort. It means that the chickens have come home to roost.

Zaxbowow got up on Monday and saw a blimp with "Titanic" on it floating above him! He new that this day was special.

Thanks David and Tom.

P.S. Love your website. Shame about the Principles. (or is that Principals?... I never was much good at spelling)

Shop-Bots are an infant technology that has just begun to develop and spread. At it's simplest (current form) it is little more than mostly a brute force catalog indexed using mostly available and well developed database technologies. At it's most developed state (future) it will become several offerings that probably will use industry accepted data exchange constructs and user controlled profiling information to "understand" the individual user and respond to his/her needs specifically - it will know more what you or your loved ones might want for Christmas better than your wife or mother! The Web Bots will remind you of events such as B'days and holidays and suggest items suitable for the occassion for each person you have on your list to shop for. And it will point you to reviews, user chat boards/comments, company and web merchant sites. And, of course, they will do an excellent job at providing comparitive price and service information.

Will people use Web Bots increasingly in the future? Several studies and common sense say so: they will make it convenient to buy things you need at the best prices and service levels.
