<<<You're buying in this market??? DELL will see $80 before $120, you can take that to the bank. >>>
Am planning to buy 100 shrs at market and a few Jan or Feb calls tomorrow if Dell stays below 112. Am expecting Dell to gain a few points before the split, perhaps even close to 120. Thats for long term so I hold them thru any drops unless Dell goes below 70.
IMO money managers have been accumulating Dell stock for
clients who would dearly love to own it if the price is below
70 or 60 after the split.
Dell is much more in the news lately, with a great reputation for stock appreciation, good management and exceptional earnings.
Am not counting on the (somewhat standard) drop after the split
and thus not waiting for then to buy it
Can buy Dell anytime for LT hold, if it does drop after the split
will just buy more.
Sig

DELL will see $80 before $120, you can take that to the bank.

On what basis do you believe Dell will go to $80? To me, the downside risk in Dell, as in many other issues is mostly systematic (especially given Dell's last report). The NASDAQ is off 22% from its high. A price decline in Dell from 108.375 to 80 is a 27.2% decline, and given a beta of 1.8 would equal an additional 15% decline in the market (probably conservative). That would put the market down over 35% from its high.

However, at $80, I know I for one would be buying a bunch. And like Oct of last year, I would get it at a price which was associated not with lack in corporate fundamentals, but because of a very emotional and irrational market.
