Kirk, of course, it must be the time of day. The only thing I heard or saw about the meeting was on the evening news. Looks like a "love in" to me. Until Russia get its government together, I'm not sure much is going to happen. I think the Russian market is up in hopes of something good coming out of the summit.

slick made some positive comments about the us economy and their successful monetary policy (you know, where they massively print money and give it away ;-)

since bill lies about everything... ;-)

here's the article...

Speaking of NBR - see interview with Abby Joseph Cohen last night:

quote.com

Assume you have heard/seen results of Clinton/Yeltsin 5 AM press conference by now (including Slick's continued inability to use the word sorry & response to a question).

However I saw the following "classic" headline on the wire (my sides still hurt from laughing)

"CLINTON OFFERS MORAL SUPPORT TO YELTSIN"

If Yeltsin thought he was in trouble before, this headline may not put him at ease.... Wonderful-Willie may not know any definition of the word moral.

And from the market front:

biz.yahoo.com

Let's see if this headline is prophetic:

>U.S. stocks set to open higher, calm trade seen<

In case 2 links are not enough, here's 1 more on market mavens:

Captain Kirk:

An update on Slick - from the Russian Front (NY Times article):

Message 5655734

This would be even funnier - if it wasn't so sad.

Over & out
