Re the possible acquisition of a web host company, I think it is going to fit as part of package of services as Bramson mentioned in his letter..here are two links that I think shed light on what Ampex is shooting for....

mvbms.com

adage.com

Remember the MCI Hypermedia trial with NBC which used the Ampex DST for storage...well, the Ad Agency for MCI is Messener Verter et al...

Silver Hammer is now part of Four Media, a consolidator of postproduction services companies...

I see a trend and I see wonderful opportunity for Ampex to leverage proprietary technologies and their Brand Name by providing services to ad agencies, their clients and the post production companies who already know and use their highest quality products. I see it translating into a web based video hosting service business...just my opinion....

Looks like with business in the multimedia, telecommunications, videoconferencing, etc., you are right that ATEC could be synergistic for AXC. Good customer list would certainly help. As they are receptive to buy-out or merger, now is the time. I don't think they'll last long with such a small market cap relative to sales (sales = $187 million last year). And profitable at least several quarters, with tremendous growth.

You convinced me that the Y2K didn't unduly influence the revenue increase. I had to pick some up in case AXC doesn't. Sorry, I probably doomed all other longs.
