kory, to add to your point, this has been the mother of all bull markets. most people day trading go long and, guess what? this is successful in a bull market ;-) i've known many people looking for 2 points and were handed 30. uh, to the downside ;-) i'm as skeptical of short term trading as i am of the get rich guaranteed buy and hold paradigm ;-) actually, i'm inbetween. you know part of my portfolio is option based. however, i buy longer time frames b/c, as you suggest, ANYTHING can happen short term. btw, those that say they buy at each trough (sp?) and sell at each peak aren't being genuine, imho. it can't be done.
