I believe he has been neg on Mu for quite some time. His perspective is usually reported on techweb.

I sold some of my puts on fri but missed some more on Mon by just 1/4 or 1/2 pt. Still got lots of Jan 99 15, so I'm hoping MU will get to the teens too.

Skeeter, Tad LaFountain is a guy I'll cut a lot of slack to. Don't know if you remember, but way back when Kurlak was on his "March to the Sea" with MU (and unlike Gen. Sherman, once Kurlak gets to the Atlantic, he turns around and marches the other way), there was a great letter to the editor of EBN questioning some of the assumptions laid out by TK. The author - Tad LaFountain.

I thought that was the coolest thing in the world. It was also the right thing to do.

Scott Randall @ Soundview ups it to a short-term buy. I like him too.

These guys can be wrong, but if they're giving it an intellectually honest effort, I don't have a problem with them. LaFountain has his methodology. Randall has his. If someone can find Dan Niles' methodology on MU, let me know <g>

Just be careful going forward. Montgomery has their conference coming up Sept. 13-18, John Joseph (another character on my "WTF are you thinking?" list) is an MU uber-bull, and the portfolio managers who go to these events with cash and cell phones haven't proven to be the most discriminatory buyers.

Then again, "earnings" are due.

Who knows?

Good trading,

Tom
