Andrew..

"Similar rules will apply to videos, music, journalism, databases, photographs, and broadcast performances."

As I understand the situation of e-copyright rules, no one is sure of anything. A state of confusion is now "the order." The FCC acknowledges this. How does one prevent the copy of information in an world where everyone has equivalent means of production and replication? .. Their own home studios, publishing, and distribution media machines so to speak. Furthermore, who will want to purchase the only recently invented cult of production of entertainment and ridiculous celebrities' music, videos, journalistic slop and self-promoting "stardom." Movie Stars and Rock Stars may become a thing of the past. New technologies of information include new means of production that make it easier for everyone to be a "star." (at least enough to dilute the concept) Information and entertainment soon become so cheap that there's no money in it nor in having a copyright to anything. Human creativity becomes "for Free" as the creativity is "freed up" to proffer itself without the need of an agent or promoter for exposure to a wider (broadcast) audience nor an effective lawyer to "protect" it.

Of course, this state of affairs won't come about tomorrow as the article says.

Sincerely,
Marty
