BT Broadcast Services France is broadcasting this digital bouquet, called Canal Satellite Antilles, from the new BT teleport in Paris-Boulogne. At the Canal Satellite's digital broadcast center, programs are multiplexed in MPEG-2/DVB format and encrypted using Mediaguard's access control system.<b/> The programs are then transmitted via a digital link to the Paris-Boulogne teleport where the signal is uplinked to the INTELSAT 801 satellite.

Mr. Philippe Vuillaume, Manager of BT Broadcast Services France, added 'The market for DTH in the Caribbean is growing very rapidly, as this new service indicates. The INTELSAT, 801 satellite is a very competitive offering, allowing customers the advantage of using antennas as small as 60cm. Through the successful collaboration with INTELSAT, we were able to customize coverage to meet the customer's very specific requirements.'
