EVERYONE!

I traded CIEN long last week and was long until today -

I received a call from a very well "informed" friend that the
deal is OFF and that without the deal CIEN is in HUGE
TROUBLE!!!!

BE VERY CAREFUL FOLKS!

DON'T TAKE TOO MANY CHANCES WITH CIEN,
THEY MAY LOOK TO DISBAND
IF THEY ARE NOT BOUGHT OUT!

RICO

P.S. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE

"...they are stealing our company!!!"

...even though the market keeps pricing it at 0.6 - 0.67 shares of TLAB to one of CIEN. As a TLAB shareholder I think we're still overpaying for a one-trick pony with limited shelf life. (We don't want the company, just the technology...) Sounds like if it's up to us two little guys there's no deal. JMHO.

Stealing? ROFL

Ciena appx 1/2 of Tellabs price now, and the offer on the table is .8 shares. Do the math. Tellabs is still offering a premium.

re: Yahoo article

''One has to look very hard at this. All it takes is for CIENA to miss (earnings expectations) this quarter or lose another customer. If CIENA really gets hurt in the October quarter, this (deal) could be a roll of the dice again,'' said one arbitrageur who declined to be named."

Arbitrageurs who refuse to take ownership for their opinions deserve zero credibility, in my opinion. Not to mention Birck could give a rat's butt about a quarter or two (per Friday's conference call). It's the future, not the short-term play.
