Agreed. Here's how not to do it.

Who can forget the IBM ad about a troupe of suddenly tone-deaf South African singers (apparently practicing out in the middle of nowhere), who's conductor -- for want of an ordinary pitch pipe -- relies on a little girl's IBM computer (plugged into a tree I suppose) to find "the right note".

I like South African music -- and these guys were obviously professionals -- IBM's exploitation of them for such a preposterously contrived situation really ticked me off.
