excellent reference and catch. fwiw however I do not trust English source material on Waterloo. Starting with Siborne the English officer corps did a wonderful job of rewriting history to detract from their allies and play up their own part. The following book, if you are interested, does an excellent job of including Continental source material and providing a more balanced view. And he is English amazon.com re Cambronne I am aware of a certain amount of controversy and the Victor Hugo connection. I recall seeing earlier source material that reference the comment. In any case I like the more romantic response :) but very nice catch
