Yeh Bill I agree things are rough. I did a lot of work in Nigeria. They used to strip the electrical wiring from the cranes at night. Cranes had been part of a World Bank project. Finally had to give up and leave the stripped cranes stripped. They used to climb up the ship lines at night cut the lines (causing the potential for the ship to drift aground in the river). They would unweave the lines and make all kinds of things out of the fibers. I agree there won't be a viable copper infrastructure but I was talking about after the advent of satellite internet systems in 5 years. Then the computer provides both the role of TV and communications. I'm sure it will have to be heavily subsidized to go anywhere. Rich

<<Potential there in 25 years.>> (Re: Africa)

Maybe MUCH sooner than you seem to think. Iridium (and its emerging competitors) has the potential of vastly changing the way we view the planet and our role(s) in it. Can you imagine PDA's with wireless satellite internet connection? I can. *VERY* easily. And in the foreseeable future.
