S.W. and everyone else,
I want to thank you for the help with the video card. I got the second card today and it installed without any hitches. I am running both monitors right now, with two browsers open etc. and its great. I almost trashed the agi because of bad advice, and you guys saved me. Keep up the good work, and maybe I can now make money with this thing.
Rob

To be fair, I did receive a call from the owner of KC late this afternoon, and report the following.

He says that he buys the original software from companies like Gateway, etc, who "might have too many copies, and wish to sell their excess inventory of them." He was very nice, and answered some of my questions, however, he couldn't answer many.

And, unless someone can tell me otherwise, I can't buy it. Why would any of the large box makers have TOO MUCH inventory of CURRENT OEM OS software? They haven't shut down operations and ceased making boxes, so I don't get it. I also think it in violation of the license agreements with Gates, et al. And as I said previously, even OEM versions come with manuals, many times the same ones you get in retail versions.

Why do I seem so anal in discussing this? I'll tell you why. He admits that you get no mfg support from these purchases, and are not entitled to discounted upgrade prices in the future, as you are with typical OEM software. I don't understand why that is so. Perhaps a reseller with knowledge of licensing agreements can jump in and clue me and others in.

Sean, where are you? <g>

I also wish to buy some of his products, and I would like to know the total scoop before I do

>>Did you ever buy from this joint?<<

No. I found this guy by scanning the Sysop reseller ratings.
resellerratings.com

Scroll down the page to KC Computers and click on view

I was looking for above average ratings and a significant number of raters. KC really stands out in the crowd.

And they don't answer their phones, either. I called them four times today,

His site and the sysop raters both indicate that email is the preferred method of communication. I recall one comment about slow phone answering. He probably rates NO 1 for email correspondence however.
