Yeah. it's in the papers in Brazil (without details): Kohlberg
Kravis Robertson (US's largest LBO firm) to buy Telebras.
No partner was named. Any such news in the US?

Give me a break.

Somebody tell the Yahoo poster the auction was in July.

djane,
I know that you're just passing on the rumor but this doesn't make any sense or mean anything except to someone that doesn't know that TBR has been split up. TBR no longer exists as one entity since the auction. How could an LBO occur? This seems even even more suspect than the usual yahoo crap.

Steve,
I believe your earlier assessment/review of Japan is correct.

Kohlberg Kravis Robertson

not to be confused with Kohlberg, Kravis and Roberts
