Ian,

Although Nortel's data fiascos haven't threatened the existing Data players, their Passport box was and still is an undeniable success. Ironically, it was built to cater to the enterprise space and has done quite well there in large corporate private networks.

I believe the Bay and NT merger will fail due to differences in culture and geographic challenges. This was a move NT had to make.

With all due respect to NN supporters on this thread, NT bought BAY to compete with CSCO, not NN. CSCO owns all the pieces of an end to end solution and that is a far greater threat to NT than NN and COMS partnering on a couple of deals.
