So once the gov't runs out of money to prop the market, it will simply crash due to the overwhelming amount of sellers blowing stuff out at whatever they can get. The end result is a crash either way. If the gov't would at least allow short sellers to participate I'd think that there would be the occasional short squeeze every now and then plus a few short covering rallies to give a few up days to the market. Without that we can just watch the train wreck in slo-mo...
