James,

Take a look at the typical over reaction sell off of PCTY (partycity)
Stochs over oversold RSI turn up, MO turn up. Maybe good for a point
or two tomorrow. CEO interviewed after the bell with comments about
3rd Q loss and very positive about making it up in the 4th. Also one anaylist released strong buy and comment about overselling. End the day flat is the current battle cry.

Well I have done a merciless accounting of the past couple weeks carnage and found that even counting the hard paper losses I am now carrying,I am still 17% up for the year and am now 70% cash---but realize I must not be lazy and should attack on bounce days and not
go outside---because of my cash I at least know if I really use my wits,I can come back strong with the cash I have---fact is for those playing the bounce they could could have skimmed off 10-20% profit in roughly 24 hours--does anyone subscribe to the wallstreetcity 34dollar a month service--if so,would you recommend,as I am thinking of subscribing---I have decided to use O'Neills method for calling the
bottom on the Market--he says it has not failed him in 30 years--I will announce it to the thread when that moment has arrived:) Max

TODAY'S MARKET vs A TRIP TO THE CASINO
Jim, I agree with your assesment of the current market. We've only begun to see volatility. The sharp swings over the last week have been driven by active market players. We are yet to see reactions from passive investors who will soon be receiving their monthly statements from their 401Ks, IRA's and mutual funds.

I'm continuing to stay on the sidelines until the market stabilizes, although taking a day off for daytrading is looking more and more attractive.

Jim

If we get another 5-6% sell off in one day I would think twice about going long. That will break all kinds of support levels on nearly every index. risk/reward would not be on the side of longs the next day IMO.
