Paul,

Thanks for the response. I read this thread regularly and know that you are into QCOM; that's why I asked. I've made good money with ERICY but wanted to expand my wireless holdings with either QCOM or NOKA. Looks like they both have potential.

Re: AMD, it is tempting at these levels for a short term pop, but I'll probably pass. Do I feel lucky? Well, yeah, but, unlike Jerry, I try not to push it.

Paul, re: Qualcomm and AMD

Thanks for the excellent response. Maybe I'll take a look at Qualcomm a little more and see if they have what it takes to move ahead. What's your opinion on AT&T? (Side note: I just put in an order for a Nokia 6162. Seems like those Nokia 616x phones are in very high demand.)

As for AMD, it's hard to imagine that they will just up and disappear in the near or far future. They have designs which are far too good to ignore, even if they are behind Intel's leading edge. But I still see AMD as too high-risk to be a viable long-term investment. Would you agree? And what do you think is a realistic best-case scenario for AMD?

OT RE: Qualcomm

Agree that QCOM qualifies as a techstock of interest, but compto MSFT, INTC, and DELL it is much dominant in its market, although its technology looks like it ought to be. The quarrel between EU (backing ERICY and QCOM trying to protect or leverage it IP is big and unpredictable. If ERICY carries out its plan to abuse QCOM's IP, then QCOM can use U.S. trade law to exclude ERICY products from the U.S. market. Real big politico-economic-technological fight coming. Outcome uncertain, hence too much risk in QCOM for its present valuation (but I refuse to stay out of it). Admitted much better now for us than a few weeks ago.
