JHG: Can you share some thoughts on how you handled that worrisome day? I do the same thing I always do on days like monday -- I reread Martin Chuzzlewit! I did that in 1987 and 1997. Is it not possible that someday to our surprise we may look back on Dell and say something similar. That Dell had an ad campaign on "Be Direct. Buy Dell" in order to stand out from its competitors when in fact the competition's products were indistinguishable from Dell's when you came right down to it. I don't think that anybody who's followed Dell believes that the product is distinguishable. What is distinctive is the fact that the product is assembled with the customers specifications, but the process of assembly and delivery is uniquely Dell. TTFN, CTC
