Dan, do you know why R&D in last quarter is much bigger than that in the same quarter a year ago?

Jeff

Dear Dan,
Here is my new estimate of EPS, based on the company's recent news. First assumptions:
1. RVNU: 5 to 10% below the Q1; leading to $124.0M to $130.9M
2. Cost: I plotted the cost over the last 8 Q vs RVNU. As the RVNU goes up, the % cost decrease. For low end of RVNU I assumed 63%, for the high end 62%. (this may be conservative?)
3. GP: then becomes $45.9M to $49.75M
4. R&D and Marketing: I assume the same as the Q2 ($26.54M + $22.55M = $49.09M)
5. Interest: An Income of $1M
7. Tax: 27%
8. Shares: 47M

The bottom line EPS is then calculated as $(0.05) to $0.03. I think, possibly the EPS is around $(0.02). This is before special charges. Also, if they control the marketing and R&D cost;, then we are for a +tive surprise of $0.02-0.04 .
