Mike, I have spoken to Mike Newman, who used to be their IR man,and now John Giddings, the new IR man. Well he was pretty forthright,Newman won't tell you anything that is not in the press releases. I think that you may not get anywhere with them, they are pretty tight lipped. You people have to remember,no retail investors buy this stock, this is strictly an instutional stock. And they are probably pretty disappointed like I am,that they did not turn the corner last quarter. Well New Media is a weight, and Canada and Asia hurt bad. If you read ORTL's latest earnings released the other day,it is mirroring what HLIT said. And ORTL is twice the price, why?
They have similar revenues and shares,HLIT has the direct contracts with COX and TCOMA. I don't understand markets, they are really baffling to me. ATHM sells at a p/sales of 400,and HLIT which is building the networks that ATHM will use someday can't sell for over a p/sales of 1.Retail investors, who cannot read balance sheets, buy ATHM's stock at unrealistic prices. For every ATHM cable company sign up you get 50 million shares, like green stamps. Well Tony Ley said,as ATHM needs two way HFC they will activate the upstream with HLIT's transmitters. Lets go ATHM,you only have 150,000 subs.
I only buy companies I plan on keeping for 20 years now.
