FNM will not necessarily go up if interest rates go down. And do not try to compare FNM to a bond. It is a stock, not a bond. If rates go up or down, FNM could repond by going up, down, or no change...anybody's guess. The general market is killing everybody now, but remember that Fannie makes tons of $$$$, is stable and predictable, and pays a dividend. Probably a good core holding at any time, and even more so in a bear market (if you should hold anything in a bear market)
