Lucretius, you mean you wern't short back in Jan and Feb 1998 and in May as Dell surged upward. You just began shorting on Jul 20?
As to your reply to my post
1.I don't believe there will be a depression and any short lived recession will be mild.
2. Dell has an advantage over its competitors if ASPs decline due to its efficient business model. It is profit margins not ASPs that are important.
3. A tulip implies Dell is a worthless commodity. It is not. Would not you admit it's a well run company. Many things grow like Tulipmania which are not tulips. For example, Wal Mart and Microsoft.
4. Competitors can be a trheat to Dell's earnings growth if they emulate the "virtual integration" of Dell with its customers and suppliers but we believe this is so costly it is unlikely to happen for 5 years, if ever.

In another post you said Dow 2000. Can you describe the conditions in the global economy that you envision creating that catastrophe? Is it nuclear winter that you see?
