No guarantees but have you ever seen a stock that wasn't loosing money trade below it's cash per share value? I guess I'll find out tomorrow if selling Atmel and buying VLSI was like jumping from the frying pan into the fire. However the fundamentals look stronger than Atmel which is still trading over book value while VLSI is $3 below book value. VLSI's .31 debt to equity ratio much is better than Atmel's 1.10.
