Mighty Mizzou, I don't think DELL can really be classified as a discount guy. They are a direct vendor, and therefore cut out the inventory costs associated with the keeping retail channels filled. This makes them extremely efficient. But they are by no means the cheapest. In fact, Compaq and IBM are very close on price in most cases.

As far as MER, Tim may be right on this one. I like them a lot, as well as TRV, which I bought today at the close.

BTW, these guys will eventually move to online trading (probably through acquisition) to serve that segment that prefers this trading style. Morgan Stanley was the first to make this move by purchasing Lombard over a year ago.
